The federal and territorial government retained a team of habitat banking experts to develop a concept plan to help protect and restore the Beringia Region of Yukon which contains a large number of species at risk and is experiencing rapid development. 5SSR was part of a team that developed a concept plan based on a multi-criteria decision analysis tool that can be used by stakeholders allocate scarce resources among competing interests. The plan also involved the idea of trading credits among species and objectives.
